Get to Know Me

Deborah M. Shoham, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist #PSY30162

Life can present us with many challenges and choosing the right therapist, with whom you connect, can provide you with a the support and tools to tackle even the most difficult circumstances. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I set a tone that is practical, straightforward, and supportive, allowing for the process of therapy to feel deep and productive.

I am an expert in identifying and building on personal strengths in order to enhance your healing process and growth. As such, I use my skills to treat a wide range of disorders including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, issues related to self-esteem, body image issues, OCD, and insomnia. I work with my clients, including adults and couples, to create a safe space to share, heal, grow, and thrive.

After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA, I went on to complete my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology with an academic emphasis in family, children, and couples. My therapeutic experiences span 10 years working in university/college counseling centers and community mental health centers across Southern California; most notably Cal State Fullerton Counseling and Psychological Services, Santa Monica College Center for Wellness and Wellbeing, Coastline Community College Acquired Injury Program, and Didi Hirsch Family and Child Services.

My top priority is to create a safe space for healing, self discovery, and most importantly growth.
